Waiting Parents Meetings

Waiting Parents Meetings are open to anyone interested in adoption of a child from China or at any phase of the China adoption process.  The purpose of Waiting Parents meetings is to offer a supportive environment to exchange information to make this process as smooth as possible.  The Waiting Parents Meeting facilitators are adoptive parents that gained support from this group as they waited for their children.

• We typically meet every other month but may have special presentations that fall during an off month.  General meetings consist of introductions, to get an idea of where individuals are in the process, and then informal presentations from adoptive families that have returned home recently.  We are typically informal and allow for a lot of Question and Answer time.

FCC - Capital Area aims to:

• -  Educate adoptive parents and their children concerning Chinese culture and society and the development of internationally-adopted children in American society;
  
• -  Provide prospective adoptive parents and the public with information concerning Chinese adoption; and
  
• -  Engage in other charitable and educational activities to foster and promote the adoption of Chinese children and the welfare of children in Chinese orphanages.
